The second form of Maa durga is Goddess Brahmacharini. She is depicted as pious women or Sannyasin, who mediates and likes simplicity. Lets known the Navratri Puja rituals to please this form of Maa durga. Goddess Parvati was a great Sati and tapsavi. In order to get Lord Shiva as her husband she did severe penance and performed hard austerity. This unmarried meditating form of Maa Parvati is worshipped as Goddess Brahmacharini.

Appearance of Maa Brahmacharini

Maa Brahmacharini is depicted as walking bare feet in jungle. She is in form of a sanyasini hence She carries Jap Mala in the right hand and Kamandal in the left hand. Her most adorned ornament is Rudraksha.

या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु माँ ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।
दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमाला कमण्डलु !
देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्म्चारिन्यनुतमा !!

Meaning of Mantra: Goddess Brahmchaarini wears white color clothes, she holds rudraksh mala, lotus flower, kamandalu, in her hands. Goddess brahmcharini is the “tapaswini” roop of goddess.. who gives freedom from Kaama, krodha.
